Fire protection Standards recently referenced in regulations

The Department of Building and Housing (DBH) recently referenced the following Standards in Compliance Documents to the New Zealand Building Code, effective from 1 November 2008:

  • Fire hose reels, Amendment 1 to AS/NZS 1221:1997, referenced in C/AS1.  Download this amendment (free).  (Note that a charge applies for hard copies of amendments.)
  • Hand operated fire-fighting equipment, NZS 4503:2005, referenced in C/AS1. 
  • Automatic fire sprinkler systems, NZS 4541:2007, referenced in  F7/AS1 and C/AS1.
