To provide requirements and guidance for bolted explosion protected three-phase cable coupling devices and adaptors of the pin and socket type to manufacturers, users, regulatory authorities and associated interests, and for use with Australian/New Zealand Standards and relevant mining regulations. It also is to allow for the use of exiting compatible cable coupling systems and for the introduction of new non-compatible cable coupling systems.

Amendment 2 to AS/NZS 61558.2.6:2001 Safety of power transformers, power supply units and similar – Particular requirements – Safety isolating transformers for general use
The version of AS/NZS 61558.2.6:2001 which incorporates Amendment 1 (published in June 2006) is corrected with Amendment 2. Amendment 2 applies only to the consolidated edition published in June 2006 and re-inserts Clause 19.102, together with updating the Preface.
