Folding cots – revised Standard for safety requirements


A revised Standard for Folding cots – Safety requirements AS/NZS 2195:2010, has just been published.

AS/NZS 2195:2010:

  • provides manufacturers with functional, durability, stability, and performance criteria to reduce the likelihood of death or injury to infants in folding cots
  • incorporates requirements for accessories such as bassinets, change tables, mosquito nets. The Standard specifically addresses the need for better marking and labelling requirements to prevent potential entrapment and suffocation hazards associated with these accessories, if the accessories are not used or assembled according to manufacturers' instructions
  • provides regulatory authorities with essential safety requirements.
