Event sustainability management – Standard in development
Work on 'Event sustainability management system' ISO 20121 has reached the next stage in its development to become an international Standard in sustainability for the event industry. International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) project committee ISO/PC 250 'Sustainability in event management' will produce the Standard.
The decision to advance to the third of five steps of the ISO Standard development process was made during the project committee's second meeting in April 2010. The meeting included experts from Austria, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, France, Japan, Norway, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States of America in attendance, with representatives from Canada and Germany joining via weblink. Experts were also present from Meeting Professionals International, the Green Meetings Industry Council, and the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

A new work item is being proposed for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to provide implementation guidance to the risk management framework and process defined in ISO 31000:2009 Risk management – Principles and guidance.
The purpose of this work item would be to develop a guidance document that provides greater detail and information on how to establish risk management in any organisation. The work would build on core elements of ISO 31000:2009.

DR10019 CP Information technology equipment – Safety Part 1: General requirements (Revision of AS/NZS 60950.1:2003)
To establish minimum safety requirements for the design, construction and operation of mains-powered or battery-powered information technology equipment. It sets out requirements intended to ensure the safety of the operator and other people who may come into contact with the equipment and, where specifically stated, for service personnel and which may be used as the basis for approval for Australia and New Zealand.
