Queen's Birthday honour to Richard Fenwick

Standards New Zealand congratulates Dr Richard Fenwick who was appointed as an 'Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit' in the Queen's Birthday honours 2010. The award acknowledges Fenwick's services to engineering.

In 2005 Fenwick was awarded a Standards New Zealand Meritorious Award for his extremely valuable contribution of time, knowledge, and research to Standards over a number of years. Fenwick was a key member of the Standards New Zealand P 3101 committee, which developed NZS 3101:2006 and Amendment2 to Concrete structures – The design of concrete structures. He was also involved with the development of NZS 1170.5: 2004 Structural design actions – Earthquake actions – New Zealand.
