Committee: P5433 A1
Project Manager: Bruce Taylor
Estimated Publication Date: December 2011
Comments: NZS 5433:2007 provides manufacturers, distributors, and transporters of dangerous goods with information such as packing instructions, labeling, segregation, and other requirements to ensure the safe transport of dangerous goods by road and rail. Work is underway to update the Standard with the latest changes published by the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (UNRTDG), and changes introduced under the Land Transport Rule: Dangerous Goods 2005 (amended in 2010) and the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996. A revised draft of NZS 5433, in two parts, has been released with public comment closing on 26 September 2011. A committee of technical experts will review the public comments received on the draft, and decide on any final changes before the revised Standard is prepared for publication in late 2011.
