Issue 34 – December 2011
A suite of Standards protecting the community from the threat of legionnaires disease and other microbial organisms has been improved. The joint Australian/New Zealand Standards series AS/NZS 3666 Air-handling and water systems of buildings covers microbial control in air handling and water systems in buildings. The objective of a new Standard in the suite, AS/NZS 3666.4, is to provide a performance-based approach to air handling system maintenance to assist users in the control of micro-organisms.
Parts one and two of the suite cover the design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of air handling and water systems. Parts three and four are performance-based documents for maintenance – Part three covers cooling water systems and Part four covers air-handling systems.
